Welcome to Elite Club Football, our aim is to bridge the gap between professional academies and local grass roots clubs. To achieve this, we offer a range of development sessions which follow our structured “Elite Club Football Syllabus.” This syllabus offers planned sessions designed to nurture and develop young players.
We believe players who are not picked up by a professional academy at a young age are being put at a disadvantage, and lack the necessary amount of football coaching needed to make the most of their potential. Our development sessions are open to all abilities and offer young players this essential extra hour of coaching/development each week, allowing them to develop as players and reach their potential.
Our model is structured to work with players aged between 4 and 16 and we have a clear development pathway for them to achieve their maximum potential. Our aim is to develop players to a level where they can sign for a professional academy, which we will assist them in being identified with our contacts and regular matches against professional academies.
Our coaches are FA qualified and DBS (CRB) checked, we are also fully insured and first aid trained so parents can have full peace of mind. This allows us to offer a high standard of coaching and sessions which are on the same level or higher then professional academies. In order to maintain high standards and coach/player contact time, we work to a maximum coach to player ratio of 1:12.
For players aged 4-12 our “Elite Club Football Coaching Syllabus” focuses on the core skills needed to become a successful footballer, which are:
- First Touch
- Striking the ball (passing/shooting)
- 1 V 1 (attack & defend)
For players aged 13-16 our “Elite Club Football Coaching Syllabus” focuses on building on the core skills with team based learning, which include:
- In possession of the ball:
- Playing out from the back
- Midfield play
- When the opponent is in possession of the ball:
- Defending/recapturing the ball
- Team and player actions when we lose the ball
- Team and player actions when we win the ball
All sessions will be both enjoyable and challenging ensuring players are developing but also having fun and making friends at the same time.
These skills are developed by repetition and focused practice during sessions, we also use small sided games to aid decision making and plenty of contact time with the ball.
Our Development Pyramid
We have three levels which are shown above which cater for beginners through to players who are excelling and are close to making the step up to a professional academy.
The Skills Centre sessions are open to all abilities and those new to football. We offer these sessions for players aged between 4YRs – 12YRs and we work on the core skills needed to become a successful footballer.
All the basic skills will be covered including dribbling, passing, and shooting. Players will learn in a fun and safe environment and will be taught by FA qualified and DBS (CRB) checked coaches using fun games and drills to enhance their core football skills.
Players will work with the ball for the majority of the sessions, and the focus will be on developing the players rather than winning.
